The Secretary of IFAD Mission, Mr Paolo Ciocca announced this in Abuja when he paid a visit to the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources.
He said Nigeria has a role to play in the development and progress of the Organisation.
Mr Paolo Ciocca said the meeting of the Council is slated for Rome and coincides with the 30th anniversary of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
In his remark, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Water Resources, Mr Ademola Rasaq Seriki said Nigeria was committed to uplifting the standard of the international body, adding that all dues owed by Nigeria would be paid immediately.
Mr Ademola Seriki said the contribution of IFAD to Nigeria agricultural development could not be over emphasised and stressed the need for more collaboration to ensure maximum food security for the nation.
