Reps discover $16bn expended by previous administration on power

discovered that sixteen billion Dollars was expended by the power sector by previous administration contrary to the ten Billion Dollars earlier mentioned.

In a statement, Mr Bankole said the additional six billion Naira represented extra budgetary spending on the sector in the period under review.

The Speaker expressed dismay over the manner in which such huge amount of money was spent without results.

He blamed the colossal loss on the poor budget planning and lack of proper oversight function by the relevant bodies.

Mr Bankole stated that the only way to avoid such situation in future was to ensure periodic monitoring of outputs.
