Minister urges NFMC to discharge responsibilities well

The National Frequency Management Council NFMC has been urged to discharge its constitutional responsibilities without fear or favour.

The Minister of Information and Communications Mr. John Odey made this call while declaring open the eleventh meeting of the council in Abuja.

Mr. Odey said the radio frequency spectrum was an important resource in which many Radio Communication services and their applications depend for the operation of their terrestrial networks.

In a remarks the Minister of State for Information and Communications Alhaji Ibrahim Nakande said arrangements were on to merged the Nigerian Communications Commission and the National Broadcasting Commission NBC.

The National Frequency Management Council is the apex body in the country charged with the responsibility of managing the radio frequency spectrum.
