Bauchi: Netherlands renews support for leprosy & TB Prog.
Netherlands has renewed its pledged to support leprosy and tuberculosis control programme in Bauchi State for the next five years.
During a courtesy call on Governor Isa Yuguda at the Government House Bauchi, Netherlands Ambassador to Nigeria Mr. Arie Van der Wiel said negotiation on a new phase of agreement had since commenced.
He said his country would expand its scope of support to cover increased awareness to reduce the level of discrimination against those suffering from tuberculosis and leprosy.
Ambassador Ariel Wiel while expressing supports for government’s effort towards revitalising agriculture, promised to explore areas of cooperation with Bauchi State Government in the tourism, education and agriculture sectors.
Responding, Governor Isa Yuguda thanked Netherlands for its assistance to the Bayara General Hospital to control the spread of leprosy and tuberculoses, hoping that such support would be extended to either key sectors of the economy like Dam Construction and tourism development.
