Nigeria to become a major exporter in aluminum products

Nigeria will be one of the major exporters of aluminum products in the world by the year 2020.

 

 

 

Minster of the State for Mines and Steel Development, Mohammed Gusau, made the remark during a facility inspection tour to the Aluminum Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State.

The Minister said “in the next 13 years, we are hoping that the world would know that something is happening in Nigeria as we are going to be the major exporters of aluminum in the world”.He said that it was the determination of the Government to ensure that the Steel and Aluminum sector was among other sectors that will bring about Nigeria development.

Earlier the Managing Director of ALSCON Andrei Partyanskiy said every thing was being done to commence production of aluminum products in the plant by next month.“We are ready to contribute to the socio-economic development of Nigeria through job and wealth creation” partyanskiy said.
