The First Ever Gas Flare-out Forum in the country has needed with a resolution to enlarge the Petroleum Act of 1969.
This is toe enhance gas development and accommodate other interest groups that were not include in the Act.
Addressing a news conference, the Chairman of the Gas Resources, Senator Osita Izunaso, said that the amendment would also incorporate a definite time table to end gas flaring in the country.
The Oil Producing communities that attended the two-day forum suggested that any gas still being flared by the end of December 2008 should be made available to willing third party project developers.
