SYNOD: Pope warns against colonialism in Africa

Pope Benedict the sixteenth has warned that a form of colonialism continues to affect Africa.

 

Opening a three-day Synod of African Bishop in Rome, he said although political colonialism was over.  The developed World continued to export materialism, which he called “Toxic Spiritual Rubbish” to the Continent.

About two hundred Bishops from fifty-three African Countries have gathered to discuss how the Catholic Church can help resolve the social injustices and wars in the Continent.
