to stop the National Convention of the Party slated for Saturday this week may have hit a brick wall as an Abuja High Court had ruled that the Parties were not properly served Court papers and adjourned the case to Friday.
The Trial Judge, Justice Ishaq Bello had granted an order of substituted service to the Plaintiffs to serve the seven respondents with copies of the suit through the National Headquarters of the PDP in Abuja.
The Court however observed that all the respondents could not be reached through the address, noting that there was the need to make fresh order varying the earlier one.
The Plaintiffs, Alhaji Abdullahi Maibirgi, Chief Iroha and Hajia Ceceko Ahmed claimed that the National Executive Committee of the Party was the proper body to have called for the convention instead the National Central Working Committee of the PDP, and action they said contravened the Party’s constitution.
Respondents in the matter include the immediate past Chairman of the Party, Dr ahmed Ali, the Chairman Board of Trustees, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the Deputy National Chairman, Chief Olabade George.
