NCC requires 30,000 Stations to stabilize GSM services in the country

Commission says it requires about thirty thousand base Stations to stabilize GSM Network Services in the Country.

The Special Assistance to the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Mr Ayoola Oke stated this when a delegation from the Commission appeared before the House of Representative Committee on Public accounts.

Mr. Oke said at the moment, the Commission had only eleven thousand base Stations spread across the Country and gave an assurance that the services would improve, if local investors were actively involved in the Industry.

The leader of the NCC delegation and Director, Government and Legislature Affairs in the Commission, Mr Dave Imoko, told the Committee that many factors were responsible for the constraints in the Commission but said efforts were underway to tackle them.            

The Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Usman Adamu Mohammed stressed the need for the NCC to improve the level of its operation for better services to the people.

Correspondent reports that the House Committee on Public Accounts had summoned the NCC delegation to enable it asses the audit reports of the Commission.
