House Speaker calls on policy makers in education to reposition the Sector

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Dimeji Bankole has called on Policy Makers in education to contribute meaningfully to the repositioning of the Sector.

Mr Bankole who made the called at a policy dialogue on Poverty and Access to Education in Abuja noted that revamping the Sector was fundamental to the attainment of the millennium development goals.

He also stated that poverty was a major factor that affected the underprivileged in the society.

In a message, the Minister of State for Education, Hajiya Aishatu Duku said the Ministry would place emphasis on vocational education to enhance productivity in Secondary Schools.

The workshop was organised by the Action Aid and Commonwealth Education Fund.
