Kano: Inadequate power supply weighs people down

Report from Kano says the people of the State are now groaning under the hardship of inadequate electricity supply to the State.

In most parts of the State, customers have been without light for many days, while in few places power supply lasts for only few hours.

The people have complained that the constant power outage has adversely affected not only economic, activities but also social especially water supply.

Commenting on the development, the Chief Operating Officer of the PDCN in charge of the Kano Zone, Mr Jacob Babatunde attributed the problem to a series of disturbance at the generating section.

Out of the two hundred and thirty megawatts of electricity required in the State, only thirty megawatts was being supplied now.
