Ekweremadu to observe the Democratic National Convention in Denver
The Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has been chosen to join other International Leaders to observe the Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, United States of America next month.
In a letter signed by former United States Secretary of State and Chairman, National Democratic Institute Board of Directors, Madeleine Albright, Senator Ekweremadu would be attending the convention under the 2008 International Leaders’ forum, ILF.
Reacting, Deputy Senate President said the Convention would serve as a good opportunity to witness the Internal Democracy of the United States Democratic Party, adding that the experience would help deepen the country’s democracy.
The Convention is expected to ratify the nomination of Senator Barack Obama as the Party’s flag bearer in the November presidential election.
