Ban of Big brother Africa remains in force – House of Reps
House of Representatives says the ban on Big brother Africa, three a programme on Multi-Choice Channel in the country still remain in force unless multi-choice modifies the pornographic and obscene segments of the programme.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Information and National Orientation, Chief Dino Molaye stated this at an interactive session with stakeholders on the third edition of the programme by MNET and multi-choice.
Chief Molaye said Nigeria would no longer accept a situation in which foreign multi-nationals debase the nation’s cultural values and norms.
The Managing director of Multi-choice, Mr Collins Komalo, gave assurance that the third Edition of the programme would not contain pornographic materials.
Mr Komalo said that multi-choice had put in place appropriate modalities to avoid the repetition of what happened in the last edition of the programme.
The House Committee on Information and National Orientation last year banned Multi-Choice from airing the Big Brother Africa programme in Nigeria because of the phonographic scenes.
