NUPEC: Remove “State of Origin” clause from the constitution

The Commandant-General of National Unity and Peace Corps, NUPEC, Dr. Humphrey Ogoegbunam has called for the removal of the “State of Origin” clause from the nation’s constitution.

Dr. Ogoegbunam stated this today while briefing news men in Abuja.
According to him, the state of origin clause as used in the constitution only encourages discrimination among Nigerians where they reside.

Dr. Ogoegbuman requested that enabling laws should be put in place to provide the necessary conditions for peace and unity of Nigeria.

He identified obstacles among others to the nation’s unity and progress to include ignorance illiteracy, poverty.

Mr Ogoegbuman urged the National Assembly to enact a law to empower local authorities to enforce sanitation regulations especially in markets, garages, recreational parks, residential and commercial areas.
