A Multidisciplinary Employment Mission from the International Labour Organisation is to visit Nigeria to provide policy advice and actionable programme proposals to assist Nigeria realize its vision 2020.
The mission which is made up of consultants and specialist will identify priority areas drawn from consultations with the Ministry of Labour and its social partners.
While on a visit to the Minister of Labour, Dr. Hassan Lawal in Abuja, a delegation led by the Acting Regional Director of the ILO, Mr. Kweku Osei-Bansu said they were in the Ministry to get more input from the Minister on the concept note from the mission.
He said the priority area for the Mission would be employment generation and poverty reduction. Responding, the Minister of Labour Dr. Hassan Lawal said the seven point agenda of the present administration was drawn from the need for deeper reflection on social and economic development of the nation. Dr. Lawal spoke more on government to create equal employment opportunities and wealth generation.
