Minna: police arrest 2 for bank fraud

The police in Minna, Niger state have arrested two persons for allegedly attempting to defraud a commercial Bank of four-point-five million Naira.

 

Newsmen reports that the suspects are Mohammed Danlami and Isa Mohammed.

The Police Public Relations Officers, Mr. Richard Oguche, said they were arrested while attempting to clear the amount from one Danlami’s account.

He said the arrest followed a trip off, about the suspicious transaction, by officials of the First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Minna branch, on December 24, 2007.

Mr. Oguche, said the amount was fraudulently transferred into Danlami’s account from the Benin Akpakpava branch, without particulars of the sender. He said the police were investigating the source of the money.
