Alao calls for consultative C’ttee on Niger Delta

A Joint Consultative Committee to look into the problem of environmental pollution in the Niger Delta has been set up.

The Minister of Environment and Housing, Hajia Halima Alao, who stated this while featuring on a News Agency of Nigeria, Programme Forum , said that the battle against environmental degradation in the area should not be left to the people of the region alone.

On the Committee are the national Environmental Standard Regulation Agency, some oil companies as well as States in the Niger Delta region.

Hajia Halima admitted that the problems of the region are enormous but called for joint efforts to tackle them.
