Bauchi Gov expresses support for reintroduction of community policing

Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda has expressed support for the reintroduction of community policing, describing it as an effective strategy to check the rising wave of insecurity of lives and property in the country.

The Governor who made this remark while receiving community policing progress report hinged his support for the scheme on its efficacy in promoting social cohesion through sustained fight against crime.

He commended the wisdom behind the decision to involve traditional, religious and community representatives in the programme stressing that their experience in crime control in Pre and Post colonial era could be of immense benefit in establishing social order.
