SUDAN: About 70 Armed Arab Nomads killed in border clashes

About seventy Armed Arab Nomads
 

have been killed in clashes on the border between Northern and Southern Sudan.

According to authorities in Southern Sudan, the clashes occurred between Misseriya tribesmen and fighters from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement.

The SPLM is a former rebel force which under 2005 peace deal, shares power with the National Congress Party, NCP.

However, SPLM spokesman, Edward Lino has also accused the NCP of backing the Misseriya against its forces.
