EBONYI: Bishop Calls on Christian mothers to be role models

Christian mothers have been

admonished to refrain from acts capable of putting their families in disrepute.

The Methodist Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, the Right Reverend Godfrey Agupusi said at Mothers Day celebration of the Church that some mothers had remained unfaithful to husbands and less concerned to the welfare of their children.

Bishop Agupusi however appealed to children to always respect their mothers as demanded by God.

Speaking to Radio Nigeria, the wife of the Arch Deacon, All Saints Anglican Cathedral Abakaliki, Mrs. Juliet Ikpeazu, whose parish also celebrated the Mothers Day, called on mothers to follow the path of virtuous mothers whose songs were sung in the bible.

Correspondent reports that many mothers of the Anglican and Methodist Churches used the celebration to visit the less privileged at motherless homes in Ebonyi State and presented them with gifts.
