Imo State Govt commences screening of residential & industrial plots

The Imo State Government has commenced the screening of residential and industrial undeveloped plots as a way to fast track development in the State.

At the end of the exercise, owners of such undeveloped plots will be given a deadline within which to develop or lose their titles.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, the State Commissioner for land, Survey and Urban Planning, Professor Jude Njoku, said the exercise was part of the efforts to give opportunities to those who were ready to help developing the State.

Professor Njoku spoke on other measures being taken to address the growing scarcity of land in the capital city.

On the moribund free trade zone project embarked upon by the past administration in the State, the Commissioner said efforts were being made to revive it.

In pursuance of the Clean and Green Initiative, Professor Njoku, said government had developed a policy of leasing out open spaces to entrepreneurs for the development of recreational sites.
