ALGON task chairmen to provide grassroots health care
Local Government Chairmen in the country have resolved to intensify efforts at providing qualitative health care at the grassroots.
The new National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, Mallam Dasuki Jalo-Waziri, made this known, while formally assuming duties in Abuja.
Mallam Jalo-Waziri said the rate of maternal and child mortality among rural communities called for immediate action.
The ALGON President also called for uniformity in the conduct of elections among local government councils in the country.
Handing over the documents of the Association to the new National President, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Mallam Umar Kazeem Ibrahim, explained that the leadership assumed office late.
There are fifty-four National Executive Officers of the Association of Local government of Nigeria, ALGON.
