NTI to train 145 primary school teachers nationwide

The National Teachers Institute, NTI, is to train one hundred and forty-five thousand primary school teachers nationwide.

The NTI Director-General, Dr. Patrick Onyekwere told News Agency of Nigeria that the retraining would be conducted in partnership with the office of the Senior Special Assistance on MDG.

He said a similar retraining of one hundred and forty-five teachers was conducted in 2006 to prepare them for the reviewed curricula in primary schools.

The Director General further stated that the institute planned a retraining programme for sixty-five thousand part time course tutors in its Distance Learning schemes.
