ICPC has received 3,917 petitions since its inception

The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, says it has so far received three thousand, nine hundred and eleven petitions since its inception eight years ago.

ICPC spokesman, Mr. Folu Olamiti, said two hundred and ninety-eight of the petitions were sent between January and May this year.

He said out of the number, the Commission has established merit in one hundred and fifty-three cases involving persons in the three tiers of government and that they were being prosecuted in various courts.

The ICPC spokesman said the Commission’s anti-corruption drive had secured twelve convictions out of the one hundred and fifty-three cases taken to court this year.
