ASAF: List to be complied for next cultural festival
A list of the various festivals in Africa and South America is to be complied for the next cultural festival in Caracas, Venezuela to promote cultural ties among member states of the two continents.

The decision was taken at the end of the 2nd Meeting of the Africa and South America cooperative forum which ended on Friday in Abuja.
The meeting in a communiqué also agreed to work out details on the proposed establishment of a University of the South, a Bank and Radio Station for two regions.

In an interview, one of the signatories to the communiqué and Head of A.U. Commission to the meeting, Ambassador John Shinkaniye said the new forum would be of immense benefit to both continents because of their historical links. Ambassador Shinkaniye said the Abuja meeting succeeded in taking measures towards preparation for the 2nd Africa – South America Summit of Heads of State and Government to be held in Venezuela next year.

A Minister and Head of Delegation form Brazil, Gilberto De-Moura and Roger Echeverria of Venezuela as well as Nigeria’s representative, Ambassador Emmanuel Ogunaike also signed the communiqué of the two day meeting.
