Ricky Tarfa shot in traffic jam

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ricky Tarfa (SAN) and foremost Lawyer to the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar at the weekend, was attacked by Gunmen in Lagos.

Tarfa was reportedly shot in a traffic jam at the Lekki area of Lagos last Saturday night.

Reports gathered that Tarfa had gone to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja to receive his wife and children, who had returned to the country from Dublin, Ireland, on the fateful day.

The lawyer’s wife and children rode in the same vehicle, a jeep, with Tarfa driving.
It was gathered that while the Tarfas were caught in traffic on the Lekki-Ajah Expressway, a gunman alighted from a motorbike, walked straight to the jeep and opened fire.

The volley of bullets shattered the windscreens of the jeep, and pellets hit the lawyer on the right hand. His family members also sustained injuries.

In the bid to escape the marauder’s attack, it was learnt, Tarfa ran into the concrete road divider. His driver was said to be driving a back-up car conveying the luggage of his family when the incident occurred.

When contacted, the head of Ricky Tarfa & Co law firm, Chief Segun Odubela, thanked God for sparing the life of their principal and his family. He called on the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), to address the worsening security situation in the state.
