State Govts to establish Office of Surveyor General in their States

 Some State Governments have been urged to establish the Office of Surveyor General in their States.

 The Director Internal Boundaries of the National Boundary Commission, Abuja, Alhaji Sani Mohammed Isa, made the call at a Northern Surveyors Forum in Kaduna.

 Alhaji Sani Mohammed said the Office of the Surveyor General would assist the governments with precise information in their effort to ensure infrastructural development.

 In his remarks, the President Nigerian Institute of Surveyors, Dr. Sola Atilola, appealed to governments to provide special subvention for tertiary institutions offering surveying to encourage the younger generation to pick interest in the course in view of its importance in a developing economy.

 Dr. Atilola called on Northern State Governors to patronise the services of local surveyors to ensure the vibrancy of the profession in the region and create job opportunities.

 Also speaking, a member of Kogi State House of Assembly, Mr. Emmanuel Omebije advised surveyors to imbibe science and technology in their practice to meet global
