Mark assures that new states will be created in areas with genuine demand
The Senate President, David Mark has given an assurance that new States would only be created in areas with genuine demand.
Senator Mark stated this while addressing a delegation of the Movement for the Creation of Njaba State from Imo and Anambra States which visited him in Abuja.
The Senate President regretted the failure in the amendment of the constitution last year and pledged that the exercise would succeed this time.
Senator Mark pledged his support towards the creation of NJABA State and advised the delegation to intensify its campaign to ensure the realization of its objective.
The leader of the delegation and former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, expressed the conviction that the proposed NJABA State had fulfilled all necessary conditions for its creation.
Chief Udenwa stated that the people of the proposed State had agreed to live together and develop the State when created.
In a brief remark, Senator Osita Izunaso urged the people to work harder to ensure success and thanked the senate President for granting audience to the people.
Correspondent reports that the movement for the creation of NJABA State blazed the trail among others with the official visit to the senate President.
