Japanese Govt to assist Nigeria to boost education & power sectors

The Japanese Government has earmarked over eleven billion Naira to boost education, water and the power sector in the Country.

 

The Japanese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Toshitsugu Uesawa, announced this to newsmen at a briefing in Abuja.

Mr. Uesawa stated that the challenges in those sectors would be discussed at the forth-coming 4th Toyko International Conference on African development, TICAD.

The Ambassador said nineteen States would benefit from the education grant, twenty-one from water while ten States would benefit from the electricity grant.

Other areas which Japan will assist include Polio, Malaria and Guinea Worm eradication.
Correspondent, reports that President Yar’Adua and other African leaders are expected to attend the Conference schedule for next month.
