Ogun Gov calls for review of 1999 Constitution

The Ogun State Governor, Otunba

Gbenga Daniel has called for the review of a section of the 1999 Constitution which allocates more funds to the Federal Government.

Governor Daniel made the call in Abeokuta at the quarterly interactive forum: Mr Governor Explain This” organized by the State Legislature.

He argued that the state governments were in a better position to asses the needs of their people which invariably required more funds.

Governor Daniel observed that past administrations in the country had chosen to create more local governments in order to get more fund from the Federal Government despite their low population estimates.

Correspondent reports that the forum was the eighth since the inception of OGD administration.
