Registered Painted taxis not banned in Abuja - Aliyu Modibbo

We have not banned the Registered Painted

Taxis from operating in the Federal Capital Territory.

This is the assurance from the FCT Minister; Aliyu Modibbo Umar while reacting to the plan by operators of Registered painted Taxis and Buses in Abuja to embark on a mass demonstration.

According to him, “this is an apparent misunderstanding of the ban placed on unregistered and unpainted taxis also known as Kabu-kabu in the Territory which was done to curtail and frustrate the activities of armed robbers who use them for their  nefarious activities,

Dr.Umar however seized the opportunity to warn those who intend to formant trouble in the Territory to desist because the long arm of the Law will surely catch up with them.

He advised all abiding residents to go about their normal and legitimate business as the security agencies as usual are ever ready to protect them.

“We can’t be deterred from working towards a crime free Federal Capital Territory as envisaged by its founding fathers because this administration is determined to take Abuja to the next level” he added
